New Babies

Earlier this year, Stephen and I became grandparents. Our Zebra Finches had babies!

This is Gracie - she's the mom

Gracie – the mom. She’s about 3″ long.

This is George, he's the dad. Male Zebra Finches have orange cheeks.

The triplets now have orange beaks – one boy and two girls.

Before we could remove the nest, Gracie laid five more eggs that have all hatched! With full gullets and fuzzy bodies the babies look like they could be from another planet. Truly, a face only a mother could love.

May the farce be with you!

Your IFF,

Pam

  1. Wow! So what do you do with all the babies?

    • We’ll keep them. We have a house full of birds – a parrot, parakeet, and now 18 wee little finches. It always sounds like spring in our house.

  2. That’s a LOT of birds!

I love it when you comment - it makes my day!
