True, embellished and fictional stories for your amusertainment

I marvel at people who are comfortable enough in their own skin to photograph themselves and post the images for all to see. Like many of my friends, I’m self conscious about the way I look. I’d rather watch 30 minutes (31 minutes might destroy my brain) of Keeping Up With The Kardashians than take a selfie and post it on social media.

If you’re also image averse, there’s a way we can join in the fun without becoming uncomfortable. I call this alternative to selfies “reflecties”. Rather than snap your image directly, capture your reflection in an unusual surface. Here are a few samples.

The creative possibilities are endless. Just bear in mind that the camera will see something different than you see, so you might have to take several shots before you get it right. Additionally, be sure not to hold the camera at such an angle that it hides your image, that kind of defeats the purpose.

Go ahead, try it! I would love to see your reflecties. When reflecties become wildly popular, remember you heard it here first!

Happy reflecting!

May the farce be with you!

Your IFF,

Pam
