I have a Ph.D. in psychology and can read minds. You probably don’t believe me. However, I know what you’re thinking right now: “She can’t really read minds, especially through the internet.” Now you’re thinking “Holy sh*t! She really can read minds!”
This is no super power; it’s simply something psychologists acquire when they earn their doctorate. It’s a closely guarded secret; at least it was.
I live in the Chicago burbs with my husband, Stephen. His picture is in some of my posts – he’s the one with a beard and skinny legs. If you only count humans I have a small family. However, when you include all the creatures in my house, my family’s huge. See for yourself:
- Dewey and Mia – two Italian Greyhounds (miniatures). They’re both rescues – they rescued us. They look like big greyhounds that were left in the dryer too long.
- Amy – blue front Amazon parrot. She’s named after Stephen’s grandmother.
- Jake & Tweety – parakeets rescued from outside. They were outside, but I guess we were too when we found them.
- Wee little Zebra finches. At last count, we had more than a dozen. They’re a mix of store bought, rescue and home grown.
I have 20 years of experience working in corporate America, mostly in Human Resources. I no longer work for any particular company; now I’m a consultant offering services related to Human Resources and Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
My latest venture is with JuvodHR. We provide online HR services to small businesses at an affordable price using state of the art technology. Current offerings include customized job descriptions, performance reviews and corrective action notices. JuvodHR has been recognized by Chicago Tribune’s Blue Sky Innovation. I contribute to JuvodHR’s blogs, which you can find by selecting the blog button from the JuvodHR home page.
I write Human Resource related articles for Examiner.com. Most of my articles are serious, but I occasionally include humorous stories in my Workfarce series.
I’m also working on my first book – a parody of self-help books, which I call a self-hurt book.
I used to make movies through xtranormal.com (until they went defunct – RIP), all of which can be found on my YouTube channel.
You can learn more about my business background through my LinkedIn profile.
Thanks for checking out my blog. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
